Throw Poop in Court – Get 31 Years of Prison.

turdA man who one hopes is truly mentally ill snuck in a bag of his own feces and started throwing it around during his trial last January. The man, Weusi McGowan, was on trial for robbery and burglary and was sentenced recently for the crimes – and the poop. At an early point in his trial, he asked for a mistrial because he thought the jurors had seen him in restraints when he entered the courtroom.

The judge denied the request. McGowan, who was on trial in San Diego, was said to be mentally unstable by his lawyers. He decided to get revenge in his own way. He snuck a bag of poop into the courtroom hidden in his clothing. At one point during the trial, he brought out the bag, smeared feces on his lawyer and then flung the remainder of the poop at the jury. One juror’s computer case was struck by the disgusting substance.

This happened last January and the verdict has finally come in for the disturbed man. He’s guilty not only of robbery and burglary, but he’s also guilty of two counts of assault. That would be assault by poop. It doesn’t get more offensive than that. McGowan has been sentenced to 31 years in prison for all the charges against him.

It makes one wonder, however, if his lawyers claim the man is crazy and he’s demonstrated his edge of insanity by his own hands (poop-covered hands at that) why isn’t he going somewhere where he can be treated and helped rather than strictly punished? The man is certainly foul, but it really takes someone a bit off to even consider bringing his own poop into a courtroom, much less throwing it at the jury he hopes will let him off the charges.

criminals who are deemed mentally ill generally serve reduced sentences, and some are even placed in a mental hospital, in place of prison, before miraculously getting better and being released. Because of this incentive, a lot of defendants and their lawyers take the "mentally ill" road, and obviously this one put on a good show to try and get there
